About
Me

I value that each individual is unique, and I practice eclectically by taking a holistic and person-centered approach to therapy. I believe in walking with and guiding my clients in the process of healing because it is not about the destination but the journey that matters.

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist based in Durbanville, Cape Town. I have a special interest in working with individuals with mood disorders, personality, and attachment difficulties, as well as eating and addiction disorders. I completed my undergraduate and registered counselling degree at Nelson Mandela University.

I practiced as a registered counsellor in-training for 6 months working with children, adolescence, and adults at Nelson Mandela University Clinic. I then obtained my Master’s Degree in Clinical psychology cum laude at Nelson Mandela University, after which I completed my internship at both Elizabeth Donkin Psychiatric Hospital and Livingston Hospital. I spent my community service year at St Alban Correctional Facility in Port Elizabeth.

I then decided that I wanted to explore the world and gain experience in different areas of my field. I moved to New Zealand for 2 years where I  worked in a female corrections facility conducting risk assessments, providing rehabilitation therapeutic groups for inmates, and providing those on parole with therapeutic guidance moving forward upon release from prison. This experience broadened my understanding of therapeutic intervention and the importance of

incorporating dialectical-behavioural therapy to facilitate long-term change in behaviours. I was also able to gain experience in conducting personality assessments and working with different personality disorders presenting in certain clients.

After returning from New Zealand, I went on to work at the renowned Optima@RustenVrede, a private psychiatric clinic in Stellenbosch. During my time at Optima I have also gained a lot of experience in working with adolescents and adults, as well as providing psychotherapeutic intervention for individuals on the autism spectrum.

I now enjoy working on a one-on-one basis in my private practice in Durbanville whereby I provide my clients with both short-term and long-term psychotherapeutic intervention.
